Noble, Coble Wilson, our guest speaker at our April meeting made some very interesting remarks regarding membership for the Shriners organization. Our membership is declining but his message was not to curtail our efforts to grow our membership. His message was to be positive and promote the Shriners philosophy and mission. If we continue to work towards improving the lives of needy children and work creatively we will move forward and be successful. I challenge each member to re-new their commitment to working for needy children and let's continue to keep Shriners in the forefront. I encourage our membership to support all Shriners fund raising when they can. The need to continue necessary funds to support our hospitals is a priority.
On the local level, our building is in need of a new roof. The Board of Governors have discussed this at length. Roof professionals have been contacted and estimates received to repair our roof. As President of the Lenoir County Shrine Club, I encourage each of you to make yourself aware of this important project. This project will require substantial costs and payment options are being discussed. Please inquire from any board member or myself if you have questions concerning our building.
Please contact Noble Mark Keene, (252) 559-0480, if you would like information included in our monthly newsletter. Any information should be made available before our monthly Board Meeting. Please contact Noble Jimmy Koonce, (252) 939-6764 for help in scheduling events at the Shrine Club.
Remember no man ever stood so tall as when he stoops to help a crippled child!
